Carline Constant and Gregory Constant are a mother-and-son writing duo dedicated to spreading positivity through literature. With heartfelt characters and captivating storytelling, they touch the hearts and minds of every reader. Carline Constant is a mother, author, and educator. She earned a Master's Degree in Education from Brooklyn College City University of New York.

Meet The Illustrator
Meet Leena Shariq, a talented self-taught children's book illustrator and portrait artist from Pakistan. Encouraged by her parents from a young age, she began freelancing at 16 and, within just five years, has created numerous children's book illustrations and captivating stylized portraits. Her body of work boasts impressive semi-realistic illustrations that leave a lasting impression.

Q1. Can you share any personal experience that inspired elements of the story in Aida's First Day Of School?
One personal experience that inspired elements of the story in Aida's First Day Of School was my actual first day in first grade. I didn't want to let go of my mother's hand, nor did I want to enter the classroom. I finally released her hand when my mother gave me a big hug and she reminded me that I was not alone, that God watches over me.
Q2. Can you tell us more about your writing process for Aida's First Day Of School? Did you encounter any challenges along the way?
The writing process for Aida's First Day Of School developed quickly because the memories inspired the events in the story. One challenge along the way was to clearly outline the students' characters with their personalities, and interests to challenge readers in comparing and contrasting them
Q3. How do you manage the balance between entertaining young readers and imparting important lessons through your storytelling?
Managing the balance between entertaining young readers and imparting important lessons through our storytelling comes from keeping the events genuinely real, fun, and age-appropriate as a result we're able to depict key lessons.
Q4. Are there any upcoming projects or plans for the Amari and Aida series that you can share with us?
Some upcoming projects or plans for the Amari and Aida series that we want to share are: "Amari Plays Basketball" and "Amari and Aida's Journal For Kids!" Coming Soon!
Q5. Finally, what is your ultimate goal for Aida's First Day Of School, and what impact do you hope it will have on children's lives?
The ultimate goal for Aida's First Day Of School is empowering the mindset, and encouraging positive self-esteem to embrace challenges or something new in life as Aida had to motivate herself and find the courage to remain positive on her first day of school
